Chicago, Illinois
Chicago Marina - Photo Courtesy of U.S. EPA Great Lakes National Program Office Chicago is known as the windy city, and a visit there will explain why. The wind comes off Lake Michigan and seems to funnel down the long streets of Chicago. During the summer the temperatures climb into the 80's and 90's regularly, making the air conditioned museums and stores very welcoming. Even though Chicago is a large city, most attractions are within walking distance of the train station. During the winter the cold winds and snow make this walk more on the unpleasant side, although still possible.
